Book Check Out
Each student has the opportunity to visit the library at least once a week with his/her class. If your student has items checked out at that time, they may not be allowed to check out new items until the overdue items are returned.

*
Preschool students visit the library and practice checking out a book. They keep their books in the classroom.

*Kindergarten students are allowed to check out one book each week and take it home. (Please renew books if you need them longer than a week.)

*1st and 2nd grade students are allowed to check out two books each week and take them home. (Please renew books if you need them longer than a week.)

*3rd - 5th grade students are allowed to check out 3 books each check out period. (Please renew books if you need them longer than a week.)

*PARENTS are welcome to visit the library and check out books. Parents have a limit of 5 books per check out. (Please renew books if you need them longer than a week.)

Lost/Overdue Books
Students have 14 days to read and enjoy their books. If students need books longer than 14 days, please renew the items. If they are not returned, you will receive an automatically generated email letting you know that the book is overdue.

Overdue notices will go home periodically for books that have not been returned. If you should receive a notice, please look for the lost/overdue item and return it as soon as possible. If you cannot locate the item, please pay the replacement amount listed on the notice and submit this payment to the library so we can clear your student’s record.

Birthday Book Club

Bergen Meadow and Bergen Valley Libraries offer a unique way to honor special celebrations. Parents can register and make a $16.00 donation to the Birthday Book Club, this allows us to fill our library with wonderful books and resources that align with the district’s curriculum while honoring your child’s birthday. We typically have celebrations every three months. (For Example: January, February, & March - party in March. April, May & June - party in April. July, August & Sept - party in September. October, November & December - party in November) Remember it is never too late to sign up!
